WEBurlesque the Podcast

May 8, 2023

"You can just throw glitter on your head and suddenly you're a little disco ball, and you're not worried about what people think because they're all complimenting you on how shiny you are."

DisabiliTease Productions, Academy and Festiva co-founder Minda Mae and Viktor chat accessibility, the word brave, deconstruct "disabled enough," and check themselves along the way.  Based in Minneapolis, Minda has been performing burlesque as an ambulatory wheelchair user for the past several years, and has been an advocate for visible and nonvisible disability discussion, representation, and demystifying. (this conversation was recorded May 4, 2023)

Special Note: the last 30 minutes talks about some slurs (ableist, mentalist, classist, and homophobic), so check out early if you need to.
